Employer Branding: Recruiting campaign “Better call OX!

There is a notorious shortage of skilled workers in the software industry. And has been for years. In order to position Open-Xchange as an attractive employer in the hotly contested applicant market, OX commissioned H&H Brand Works with the development and implementation of employer branding and a corresponding recruiting campaign. The fact that OX’s development center is not located in the middle of Silicon Valley, but in the local Sauerland region, made the task particularly exciting.

In 2016, H&H deliberately developed the “Better call OX!” campaign based deliberately on the US hit series “Better call Saul!” because the target group has a high affinity for this series and the campaign thus generated significantly higher attention. The central element of the campaign was an extensive landing page that linked to detailed pages with individual job offers. In addition to the pure job description, these subpages also contained a lot of interesting information about the highlights of the individual regions/locations. The campaign was supplemented by banners on corresponding portal pages, on OX’s social media accounts, ads in special interest magazines and regional newspapers, and promotions at job fairs and recruiting events – also directly at universities. Roll-ups, posters, job postcards and giveaways were developed for this purpose, which were used as reminders to return to the landing page.
